Susana Finquelievich was born and works in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She completed her Masters of Urbanism at Université Paris VIII in Paris and her Ph.D. in Social Sciences at Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris.
Dr. Finquelievich is a Principal Researcher at the National Council for Scientific and Technical Research in Argentina; the Director of the Research Program on Information Society, Institute Gino Germani, Faculty of Social Sciences, at the University of Buenos Aires; Coordinator of the Habitat, Environmental Sciences, and Sustainability Commission at CONICET; Professor at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism, National University of Rosario, Argentina; Professor with the Faculty of Education Sciences at Paraná National University of Entre Rios, Argentina; and a Member of the Directive Board of the Centre for Scientific Research and Transfer, CITER, CONICET - National University of Entre Rios.
Her research focus on Information and Knowledge Society and she is currently working on public policies for Information Society, the role of users in technological innovation, and social inclusion.
Dr. Finquelievich has written many books on the subject including, "Food and Energy in Latin America: Provisioning the Urban Poor".
