Alison Jane Martingano is a Ph.D. candidate in the psychology department of the New School for Social Research. She specializes in social psychology, with a particular interest in empathetic processes. She is interested in distinguishing the multidimensional nature of empathy in order to promote its beneficial outcomes whilst buffering against negative consequences such emotional distress and burnout. Her dissertation research explores how virtual reality can be used to achieve both of these goals. Alison Jane holds an M.Phil. and M.A. in psychology from the New School for Social Research and a B.Sc. (hons) from the University of York. She is passionate about teaching and holds positions as an adjunct lecturer at various higher education institutions.
Let me Introduce myself, I am Anastasia Biggs from beautiful Colorado Springs, Colorado. I am a Ph. D. candidate at Capella University in Information Systems, and I have received my Bachelor of Science from the University of Colorado, and my Masters of Science in Information Systems from University of Phoenix. Currently, I am an Lead Faculty at Colorado Technical University, and have a lifelong passion for learning and sharing knowledge, with varied interests in Art, Reading, and travel. Learning is a lifelong journey, and we subconsciously learn daily from others, and life experiences which is valuable as it shapes you into the Student/Learner you are today. I have a Learner-Centered Constructivist approach to further research how to engage organizations in adopting Mobile Technology as a Corporate Training Tool. The future of Employee training can evolve from its traditional foundations in a Corporate classroom, to a mobile learning experience training anywhere and anytime.
Ben Yeo obtained his PhD in Information Science from the Pennsylvania State University. His research interests include the impact of technology and innovation on industry and regional performance, as well as issues related to IT workers, using primarily statistical and data mining methods. In addition, he has also conducted research investigating corporate social responsibility and mobile advertising.
Riddhima Sharma is a doctoral student at Bowling Green State University. She is the founder of a digital feminist platform, FemPositive that works towards building a more informed feminist movement through online and offline campaigns. She has previously taught courses in gender, law and public policy at the Research Centre for Women’s Studies, SNDT Women’s University, Mumbai as visiting faculty and led numerous workshops around gender, digital media, gender based violence and law in India. Presently, her research interests lie at the intersections of digital media, feminist movements and pedagogy in India.
Bob Mason joined Regis University as a ranked full-time faculty member in January, 2011. He is an associate professor in the College of Computer & Information Sciences. For many years he was the program coordinator for the MS in Database Technologies (DBT) and MS in Software Engineering and Database Technologies (SEDT) programs. He is now a program coordinator for the MS in Data Science - Specialization in Data Engineering (DE). Prior to accepting this position with Regis as a full-time professor, he was employed by various Fortune 500 companies for 25 years as a Data Architect, DBA, Manager and Software Engineer.
Santiago Núñez-Corrales is a PhD candidate at the Illinois Informatics Program, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) with a minor in Global Studies. Under the supervision of Prof. Eric Jakobsson (Molecular and Cellular Biology, UIUC), his research focuses on the development of a general theory of interactions to help understand and solve increasingly challenging and relevant problems where complexity, randomness, uncertainty and volatility prevail. In close connection, Núñez-Corrales aims to connect various aspects of natural and social sciences towards characterizing collective memory as an emergent phenomenon. His past experience includes Science and Technology Policy development in Latin America and internationally.
Sangwon Lee is Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Communication Arts at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His research interests include uses and effects of new media technologies; mass communication and media effects; civic engagement and public opinion formation. In particular, he focuses on how social media use changes the ways in which people learn about, engage with, and form opinions on political and social issues. His research has been published in journals such as Computers in Human Behavior, Political Behavior, Information Research, International Journal of Communication, and Asian Journal of Communication.
Ning Zulauf is an incoming Fall 2020 PhD student of the Human Resource Development program in the College of Education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is an Assistant Director of Corporate Engagement at Gies College of Business Career Services.
After she obtained her master’s degree in Technology Management, her professional experience ranged from higher education, non-profit and for-profit industries in the past ten years. Her passion is to help individuals to identify and focus on achieving their goals, and her leadership roles in non-profit organizations inspired her to pursue the PhD degree. Her research interest is in how humans leverage technology to fulfil their ultimate personal and professional development goals.
Laura Rifkin’s research centers around consumer behavior. Specific interests include reputation management, the sharing economy, psychological contracts, and obesity. Her publications include Coca-Cola and the Fight against the Global Obesity Epidemic, Thunderbird International Business Review 2018 and presentations in a number of conferences including the AMA Winter Conferences in 2018 to 2020, and ACR in 2019.
Dr. Rifkin has taught at the City University of New York since 2009, most recently as an Assistant Professor in Marketing at Brooklyn College.
Prior to teaching Dr. Rifkin had a wide and varied marketing career working for major corporations, advertising agencies and market research companies. Among the companies she has worked with include Citibank, Pfizer, AT&T, USAirways, Harte-Hanks, Merck, Geico, Coors Brewing Company and Grey International. In her capacity at Grey, she was the founder and director of Grey Direct in Puerto Rico.
Dr. Rifkin holds a Bachelor of Science from Lehigh University, a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School of Business, and a Doctor of Professional Studies in Marketing from Pace University.
